Main Street to State Street: The Mayor’s Playbook for Economic Growth in New Jersey
February 26, 2026 | Park Avenue Club, Florham Park
The New Jersey Conference of Mayors was proud to welcome municipal leaders, state officials, private sector partners, labor representatives, and policy experts to the 2026 Winter Summit at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park.
Focused on mayor-led growth, this year’s summit highlighted how local leadership is driving economic development through infrastructure, housing, redevelopment, partnerships, and practical results for residents. The day brought together a dynamic mix of voices for timely, solutions-focused conversations about moving New Jersey communities forward.
The program opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Mark Taylor of Florham Park, followed by welcome remarks from NJCM President Mayor Jason Cilento, who set the tone for a day centered on the critical role mayors play in shaping growth from the ground up.
Panel I, From Main Street to the Job Site, explored how strong partnerships between municipalities, developers, engineers, architects, financial advisors, legal professionals, and the building trades can help move projects from concept to construction.
We were honored to welcome Lt. Governor Dr. Dale Caldwell as keynote speaker. His remarks emphasized the power of leadership, collaboration, and strategic investment in building stronger communities across New Jersey.
Panel II, From Main Street to State Street, focused on how municipalities, counties, and state agencies can work together to streamline permitting, improve coordination, and keep worthy projects moving.
The luncheon program featured remarks from Speaker Craig Coughlin, Senate Minority Leader Anthony Bucco, Senator Joe Pennacchio, and Mark McDonough of New Jersey American Water, highlighting the importance of continued partnership between local leaders, the Legislature, and statewide stakeholders.
Panel III, From Main Street to Success Street, turned the conversation toward long-term impact, with discussion focused on revitalization, downtown activation, economic development, and creating lasting value for residents.
Across every panel and conversation, one message was clear: mayors are leading the way. From redevelopment and approvals to partnerships and long-term planning, municipal leaders are helping shape New Jersey’s economic future every day.
The day wrapped with an exclusive mayors-only tour of the New York Jets Training Facility, giving attendees one more opportunity to connect and continue the conversation.
Thank you to our speakers, moderators, panelists, sponsors, and attendees for making this year’s Winter Summit such a memorable and impactful event. And a special THANK YOU to our Welcome Sponsor, MPS, and our Breakout Sponsors, Associated Builders and Contractors NJ and New Jersey American Water, for helping make the day possible.
