On August 22nd, an initial meeting sponsored the NJCM Business Council, was held with NJCM Legislative Committee members and utility companies from across the state.  The discussion focused primarily on the rising costs of traffic control associated with road construction and utility pole projects.  The group discussed the financial impact of these escalating costs and how it has impacted their investment in critical infrastructure improvements.

Establishing state guidelines that will control the rising cost of off-duty police providing traffic control for utility and other road construction projects will allow for a greater investment in infrastructure improvements and assist all levels of government with the 2% property tax cap.  Ultimately, this effort can have a positive effect on every tax payer in New Jersey.
