President New Jersey Mayors ConferenceTRENTON.   Governor Phil Murphy swore in East Windsor Township Mayor Janice Mironov, as President of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors at its 57th Annual Conference in Atlantic City last week.

“I am honored to be elected as President of this prestigious organization which seeks to elevate the collective voices of mayors around the state to state and federal officials,” said Mayor Janice Mironov. “The NJCM is a unique and prominent organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the needs and priorities of mayors throughout the state.  I am honored to represent them as their President.”

The conference was attended by more than 300 people including mayors, representatives from the New Jersey’s business community and Cabinet members of the Governor’s administration.

Governor Phil Murphy provided the keynote address and swore in Mayor Mironov during the Grand Luncheon on Wednesday.

In addition to the President, three new members of the Executive Board and a new slate of Directors were sworn in during the conference.

“We are very excited to welcome our new executive board officers and slate of Directors for the coming year,” said President Mayor Mironov. “The mayors who have been swore in represent a cross section of our state which ensures regional concerns and issues will be brought to the attention of the Conference and incorporated into our programming and advocacy at the state and federal level.”

The new executive board officers are:

Mayor Paul Muir, Bethlehem Township, Second Vice President

Mayor Robert Conley, Borough of Madison, Third Vice President

Mayor Jason Cilento, Borough of Dunellen, Fourth Vice President

The New Jersey Conference of Mayors was founded in 1963 by a group of leading Mayors who believed their collective voices should be heard in Trenton and Washington. The founding Mayors were interested in finding common ground on issues impacting their residents. NJCM has since become the largest statewide organization in our Nation to exclusively represent the interests of Mayors to the State and Federal Legislatures and Administrations.

The NJCM is committed to working together with mayors to ensure they have the tools, resources and networking opportunities to improve the health and well-being of all of our communities.
